Retail Planning for 2025: It’s all about R-O-I

We’re in the final sprint of the retail year and retail execs are knee-deep in planning for 2025. From my conversations, there are three letters on everyone's mind: R-O-I. 


Here’s what to keep in mind to ensure your 2025 projects will pass the return on investment test:


Impact: Focus on business results like revenue, cost savings, or efficiency gains. Technology is a tool for retail businesses, use it to drive results. 


Time to Value: Can this deliver results quickly? I think 2025 is a year of quick wins for AI projects - get some things deployed, learn, test, expand. 


Resources: What’s needed for implementation? Find projects that don’t need massive lifts from your internal technical or business resources. 


Intangibles: Will it improve customer experience or empower your team? While the business case needs to be rock solid, look for projects that make your internal and external customers happy.
